Welcome to my website. I am a Professor in the Department of Computing at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I also serve as NSU's experiential education and learning (ExEL) faculty coordinator. I am passionate about technology innovation for learning and human performance improvement. Through my teaching and research, I collaborate with people from various disciplines who are interested in using appropriate technology and effective design to improve learning in formal and informal environments.

My research interests include the effective design of innovative technology-enhanced learning solutions and usable technology for healthy aging and wellbeing. I  conduct research in the areas of instructional design, human-computer interaction, project management, knowledge management, and computing privacy and ethics.

I teach undergraduate, master’s and doctoral courses in face-to-face, blended, and fully online formats. Doctoral courses include Directed Research and Knowledge Management. Master’s courses include Information Systems Project Management and Information Privacy and Ethics. Undergraduate courses include First Year Seminar and Honors Seminar in Design Thinking, and Water and Sustainability.

Prior to joining the CEC faculty in 2006, I spent 15 years in corporate organizational development where I was responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of learning and performance solutions in the areas of executive and expatriate education, employee onboarding and compliance, sales training, and client product implementation for domestic and international banks, retailers, mortgage companies, and insurance agencies.

I have published articles in national and international journals including Educational Technology Research and Development, Online Learning Journal, The International Journal of Designs for Learning, The Internet and Higher Education, Florida Journal of Educational Research, Florida Distance Learning Association Journal, Journal of Instruction Delivery Systems, and The Qualitative Report. I am an active member in the Association for Information Systems (and serve as NSU's AIS student chapter faculty advisor), National Society for Experiential Education (where I serve as an Experiential Education Academy instructor), and the Project Management Institute (PMI). My work crosses multiple disciplines including education, information systems, engineering, and health professions.
